Prevalence of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in Alert Center, Retrospective Analysis, Addis Ababa

Cutaneous leishmaniasis is gradually becoming an increasing public health concern. Therefore, it essential to generate knowledge on the epidemiological determinants of infection develop effective control strategies transmission disease. Environmental changes, immune status host, and treatment failure are three most important risk factors associated with cutaneous leishmaniasis. The aim this study was prevalence at ALERT center, over a five-year (2014-2018). A total 2329 participants comprising 1174 (50.4%) males 1155 (49.6%,) females participated. data collected retrospectively from center clinical laboratory records within period overall among 33%. Of this, male female 34.9% 31.1%, respectively. in age group less than 18, 19-28, 29-38, greater 39 years 37.0%, 26.6%, 13.3%, 23.1%, Generally, showed that leishmaniasis, prevalent area, still problem many factors. Hence, there need implement sound program, strengthened behavioral change, communication, social mobilization-related activities.
